Expat students can now sponsor family members’ residency

Family members of students will be able to relocate to the Emirates provided they can demonstrate sufficient income to finance their stay.

The resolution was announced by the UAE Cabinet on Sunday January 24.

The UAE is home to more than 70 universities, and attracts students from around the globe.

Student visas are issued on a year-by-year basis to expats over the age of 18 who are sponsored by a parent or accredited university.

Outstanding students can also apply for the UAE’s five-year Gold visa.
