1. Soothe your soles at Shoetopia

Being friendly to your feet is something we should all promise ourselves to do, especially considering how we’re on them most of the time during the hustle and bustle of modern life. The Dubai Mall and DSF’s collaborative pop-up activation Shoetopia will give you the chance to put your best foot forward, and then have it encased in some of the trendiest trainers and must-have heels known to man. Globally renowned brands such as Jimmy Choo, adidas, Manolo Blahnik, Sergio Rossi and Nike are taking part in this footwear frenzy, while fashion experts give enlightening ‘Shoetopia Talks’ to ensure we can all strut our stuff in style. Want to customise your Claire Rayners? You can do that here, too. Plus you can grab a natty new pair with the touchless claw machine or be first in the queue for exclusive fresh releases. Dubai rich kid extraordinaire Money Kicks will be one of the guest speakers this week, talking us through his incredible trainer collection.

2. Grab your just rewards at Dubai Festival City Mall

Some times we’re just jealous of our canine friends. It’s such an easy life they lead, with lots of exercise in the garden or at the park (or just chasing their tails), having their devoted ‘human’ to pick up after them any time of day. And once they’ve done something as simple as come inside when you’ve asked them to, they are given a reward. Oh, to be a dog. However, this DSF continues to see Dubai Festival City Mall offering the human equivalent of a Scooby Snack to its faithful shoppers thanks to the Festival Rewards app. Download it before you head to this superb shopping centre and you’ll be in with a chance to win instant prizes on the Digital Spin Wheel, purely by spending Dhs300. There’s a daily Dhs10,000 mall gift card to be had, along with stays at the InterContinental or Holiday Inn there, BOUNCE-X passes, Novo Cinema tickets and a free brunch at Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City. The greatest giveaway on offer, though, is surely a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser 2021 5.7L GXR. It’ll be perfect for those doggie days out, their tongue hanging out of the window.
Until Jan 30. Dubai Festival City Mall, download the Festival Rewards app or visit dubaifestivalcitymall.com/home/whats-on/events/spendactivatewin

3. Win a magnificent seven-seater with INFINITI

As if DSF hadn’t already provided almost unlimited ways with which to ensure your hard-earned dirhams travel further, along came INFINITI to give you extra incentive to spend just a little bit more. By making a purchase of a mere Dhs200 on non-fuel items at ENOC petrol stations across Dubai (or at selected locations within the city) you’ll be handed a ticket for the INFINITI Mega Raffle and a chance to win a brand-new and much-lauded QX60, or a share of the Dhs200,000 in daily prizes. There are 45 of these luxury SUVs being given away this DSF, with one lucky ticket holder set to become Dhs500,000 richer during the final prize draw, too. Owning such a superb seven-seater will surely mean you can’t be stingy when it comes to that office car pool any more. We’re calling ‘shotgun’…
Until Jan 30. Visit idealz.com/CR-00038.html for more information.

4. Sign up and escape to Atlantis

Rather ridiculously, considering they’ve spent so many tremendous times there over the years, a few of the Time Out team still haven’t got around to becoming an Atlantis Member yet. Bearing in mind it’s totally free to do so and merely involves filling out a short online form, we often remind them of their folly as we show them snaps of our latest escapades at this most unique of hotels. So infuriated were we at their inexcusable daftness that we’ve actually stood by their computer as they typed in their details, ensuring they can take advantage of the Atlantis Sale (that’s in cahoots with DSF), Farewell Last Year, Hello Extraordinary. With stays from as little as Dhs695 and free dining for your kids if you book bed and breakfast or half board, surely they can’t Palm us off any longer. And with selected free happy hour drinks at The Edge (daily from 4pm to 5pm), it means they can toast the end of such slackness in some style.
From Dhs695 per room, per night for members. Atlantis The Palm, Dubai, atlantis.com/dubai/special-offers

5. Have yourselves a mean time at Le Méridien

Arguably Garhoud’s finest all-rounder, we have only happy memories from our days spent at Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre. Many an afternoon we’ve delighted in the party atmosphere at the famous Warehouse brunch, or taken a seat for some first-class sporting action while tucking into perfect pub grub at The Dubliner’s. And when date night has been on the cards, we’ve been seriously spoilt for choice when it comes to delight-inducing dining destinations at this vibrant venue. What we’ve not had chance to do in recent times, though, is enjoy an overnight stay here. Already consummately cosy, the guest rooms at Le Méridien have been given a recent makeover meaning we’ve already booked the time off, especially given its DSF deal means there is a staycation for two including breakfast for only Dhs299 with our names on it. Such generosity extends to the hotel’s 18 food and beverage options, where guests will receive a 20 per cent discount. Plus, you’ll also be given the same reduction on treatments at the Natural Elements Spa and sessions at Optimal Fitness by Natural Elements. Did we mention this place has five swimming pools?
From Dhs299 per room, per night. Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre, Garhoud, marriott.com/hotels/hotel-deals/details/DXBMD-le-meridien-dubai-hotel-and-conference-centre/OFF-09037

6. Grab a golden ticket

Oh, so you thought last Christmas was cancelled and left your other half’s stocking sadly short of surprises? Now is the chance to redeem yourself thanks to the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group giveaway. Spend at least Dhs500 on some glorious gold this DSF and you’ll be entered into a draw to possibly win as much as 3kg of that glittering goodness. Plus you can double your chances of winning that chance of redemption by buying them diamonds, pearls or watches of the same value or more with two raffle tickets in your back pocket. If you forgot your wedding anniversary was actually this month as well, you should probably purchase a piece from each of the 200 retailers taking part in this bonanza. There are 25kg of gratis gold up for grabs in total so keep your ring-finger crossed (not physically possible, we know) you can make it up to them.
Until January 30. Across the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group, dubaicityofgold.ae

7. Witness revolutionary art, and all that jazz

For many of us, the arrival of the Theatre of Digital Art has been something of revelation. And its latest offering, ‘From Monet to Kandinsky. Revolutionary Art’, is a celebration of how nine artists turned the art world upside down. Monet, Seurat, Van Gogh, Munch, Cézanne, Gris, Delaunay, Klee and Kandinsky – it’s like a who’s who of the weird and wonderful. Add to that a live set by jazz trio The Suspenders and you have the makings of a Wednesday night like no other. Consisting of Bulgarian singer and pianist Bobby Valchev, Russian bassist Alexander Vorobev and Colombian drummer German Cortez, this truly international triumvirate will supply a suitably surprising soundtrack to an exhibition that already has to be seen to be believed.
Dhs75 (adults), Dhs45 (children). Jan 27, 8pm, 9pm and 10pm. Theatre of Digital Art, Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Al Sufouh, toda.ae toda.ae/en/live-music-nights

8. Discover a taste for ancient Arabia

Born in Britain, raised in Bahrain, Professor Idris Mears has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of the Middle East. This publisher-turned-bookseller will be sharing his passion for the region’s history – and its food – with the Forgotten Tales and Tastes of Arabia. Part of Hotel Indigo’s Power of Art initiative, this multi-sensory journey through time will see Prof Mears recount both folk and historical tales about the Arabian Gulf. And while the great man takes you his intriguing tour with his attention-grabbing storytelling style, you can dig into a tremendous three-course menu created by underground dining experience Nak-ha. These lunchtime and dinner sessions promise to be truly unforgettable.
Dhs115 per person with three-course lunch or dinner, Dhs145 with three-course lunch or dinner and free-flowing soft drinks. Jan 30, 1pm-3pm and 7pm-9pm. Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown, Business Bay, visitdubai.com/en/whats-on/dubai-events-calendar/forgotten-tastes-and-tales-of-arabia
