New bus routes linking Route 2020 stations
If you use the bus in Dubai, journeys look set to get smoother thanks to the introduction of two new bus routes.
The new bus routes link between Route 2020 metro stations, and they will start running on January 1.
Route F45 starts from Al Furjan Metro station and goes to Discovery Gardens. The bus will run every 20 minutes during peak hours. The second, Route F56, starts from Dubai Internet City and heads to Al Khail Metro Station. This will run every 15 minutes during peak times. This will make mobility around the city easier.
Two bus routes will also be cancelled.
“In parallel on the same date, RTA would discontinue two bus routes,” said Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency. “The first is Route 85 from Dubai Internet City Metro Station to Discovery Gardens. The second is Route F42 from Ibn Battuta Metro Station to Discovery Gardens.”
These new routes coincide with the opening of four stations on the Dubai Metro expansion
Route 2020 – which is the extension from Jebel Ali station to Expo 2020 station – will start from January 1.
“The initial operational phase would cover four stations, namely Jebel Ali (interchange station), The Gardens, Discovery Gardens, and Al Furjan, and the other remaining three stations would be opened later,” Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA said.
